PSP Emulators 2
Play arcade classics and your favorite console games of yesteryear on the PSP with this huge list of emulators. Make sure to get the right PSP hacks, like firmware downloaders, to run them efficiently.
NeoGeo Pocket Hacks
I don’t know anyone who actually owned a NeoGeo pocket, which is why it’s great to be able to play these game on your Sony PSP. NGPSP is a PSP hack that will let you see what all the fuss was about in Japan. NeoGeo was always for the rich kids. I remember their $5000 consoles in the Sears catalog, back in 1989.
NeoGeo CD
Taking things up a notch, this PSP hack, NEOCDPSP, will allow you to play the beefiest 2D arcade games of the early to mid-90’s.
PSP Hacks: Odyssey
This ancient system has now been fully emulated on the PSP. God knows why you’d want to boot this up, but hey, more options are always nice to have. Grab EmuODD today, but only if you are a total PSP hacks nut!
Intellivision
A lot of people in their late 20’s had Intellivision as kids. PSPInt is a PSP hack that allows emulation of this console-computer. The homebrew also has a virtual keyboard, which makes the experience that much better.
ColecoVision
PSPColem was programmed by the same fellow who made PSPInt, and pulls off a similar experience, this time with the ColecoVision system, which I have to admit I’ve never used.
Atari Lynx
How fitting that the highest performing handheld console out right now can emulate the fastest handheld of the 90’s and yes, 80’s. I had my Atari Lynx back in 1989. It had color. It had 3D graphics. It had wavetable sound. Amazing. HandyPSP is a PSP hack that will allow you to play games from this short lived era of handheld madness.
Sega Master System and Game Gear
EmuSMS and EmuGG are two-in-one emulators that will give you all the Sonic and Tails that you can handle. The Game Gear was a fascinating handheld, but just like the Lynx, could not compete with Nintendo’s relatively slow Gameboy series of handhelds. I could never figure out what made Gameboy so special. But this is Nintendo’s magic.
Wonderswan
Aside from having a name that could never be marketed in North America, the Wonderswan was a decent competitor to Nintendo’s Gameboy and GBA handheld consoles. The system was developed by an ex-Nintendo director and did fairly successful in Japan. Cygne Wonderswan is a PSP hack that will let you game with this little-known console.
Sega Dreamcast VMU
OK, first off, if you are thinking of full Dreamcast emulation, I hate to disappoint you, but it will never be possible with the PSP’s hardware capabilities. However, if you are into pushing your PSP to the max and running visual demos meant to run on Dreamcast hardware, VMU Emulator is a PSP hack that will accomplish just that.
